Monday, April 25, 2005 Oh, I almost forgot to share with my lovely audience this story of the boss who is so darn good in TAICHI.In the corporate world, taichi is losely defined as the act of passing whatever tasks off to someone else swiftly, so that one does not end up having to tweak any brain cells working on the particular tasks in question. Now, with the definition out of the way, let me proceed with my story.... I had the " honour" of taking over the projects from Uncle and the previous gay colleague. Let's combine these can call it Project A. Together with Big Hands, we worked on different aspects of Project A. One fine day, some super top level folks decided that they should update this project to even super duper top level management. Naturally, they asked IRRITATING BOSS to do some update slides. Instinctively, the TAICHI stunt came out and it landed on Big Hands and my laps.... At first, he said "Just do 2 slides each and send to me, I will "arrange" (aka change fonts and colours)"....then, an email came and "QM*, pls collate the slides (aka, do everything, I'm not even interested in changing the fonts nor colours)" Ok, just do lah....so we rushed it...gave it to IRRITATING BOSS on same day, stayed late till almost 8pm to get it done. And guess what?? Next day, all we got was "is that all? Is this what you plan to tell management? pls rethinking your objectives and directions" (and yes, it was present as it is, no caps, no punctuation except for the darn question mark) WTF! * names have been changed to protect the identity of the innocent
